problem: seat memory zappage

current check box on the long list of electrical to-do's for this car -
seat memory.

symptom:  blows fuse when used.  passenger side power seats are on same
circuit and seem to work fine, but as soon as you try the drivers seat
memory, the 30amp blows.  drivers side power seat works fine also
(actual power for seat is a separate circuit from the seat memory)
disassembled drivers control panel and opened up the switch, emeried and
contact cleaned everything in sight, tried it again - pop goes the fuse
weasel.

questions:  i'm thinking the likely culprit is a short the door loom.
any definitive test?  how to get enough working room and/or slack to
test, repair and splice the connections in there?  other suggestions for
seat memory problems?

electricity is so fun ;^(
