Boost/intercooler stuff

Thanks all for the replys.

I had already found and made the fix before being able to read the replys.

I found some old suggestions on this by manually searching through the
archives
dating way back. Did somebody say "search engine" to be implemented?

Anyway, I found some gigantic hose clamps at Chesapeake Marine Fasteners.
They
were about 20" each. Put the end of each through some 3/4" rubber hose
about 4"
long to cushion at the end caps and made two long straps each with two
clamps
end-end cross-strapping diagnally - thats four clamps total at less than $2
each.

I dont expect I'll be having any more problems blowing off the end caps, but
I'm
backing off the regulator as suggested 20PSI I was seeing is probably a bit
much, especially since I'm not racing. Don't want to detonate my daily
driver.

Also, there are a variety of ways discussed about getting more boost back in
the
archives. I did not disable the fuel pump cutoff, but a combination of
things
mostly in kit supplied by Paul Timmerman with variations on the theme, and
of
course checking/fixing things per Scott Mockry's great web site and advice.

Thanks again to all for your replys.

By the way, does anyone have a '86 or newer 5000/200 parts car in the
Annapolis/Washington D.C./Baltimore area. I need among other things, a
radiator
fan and a heater control valve, and right rear taillight assemble for the
'865kcsqt. Not so urgently, if anyone has a good set of seats for my
'875kcsqtw
it may be worth my drive or paying for the shipping if available for good
price
- I'm not real picky on the color, but prefer leather - my original brown
suede
is completely shot. Hate to be such a penny pincher - I'll blame my wife;>
and
the baby too!

Salud!

Ben, perhaps this is too late for you to use... I'm behind on the digests.
I strapped my 'cooler with a three food long hose clamp from Harbor Freight.

If you have a friend in the business...I've noticed some really long and
heavy duty hose clamps at the gas station holding up posters on some large
square vertical support structures. I've run as much as 18psi without
difficulty. The lower hose rarely succumbs to high pressure, it's quite
rugged. The upper hose _will_ not last. If you have simply grounded out
the
overboost fuel cutoff relay then consider adding one of those 'g-activated'
relays to the ground line to shut off the pump in the event of an accident.

You'll eventually want to go to find and install one of the single pass
'coolers from a 20V car as they flow better. I'm still looking for one as
the new ones are expensive and the used ones are non existent.
