nothing you did in the engine oil change will affect your pump. the drip on
it could be from the front seal leaking. mine did this for a few years
without really losing much juice at all but one fateful day it siezed up
solid :>(.
i simply put in a used one...a simple change..relatively speaking. it's now
going on a year and a half with no problem. the louder whirring could be the
front bearing going in your pump.
