100 86` front rigth spring bearing - busted??

Hi All.
First of all I would like to say that my audi is running beautifully at the time!!! ( I love my Audi!)
so.
The problem is my front right suspension, I think maybe the spring bearing is busted, but I`m not sure. If I grab the spring at the top and try to twist it side to side, the action is all but smoothe. shouldn`t it be? it`s notchy and bumpy. 
Help is mucho appreciado.
