you were looking at the AC evaporator.  The heater core is *inside* the
blower box.

Ask Brendan how to change it...

No dash removal, glove box only - but the AC thing is right in your
way.  Good time to delete it.

There is a black cover over the end of the core, about level with the
middle of the AC junk, about 2" H by 8" W.

You still live around here?  You could come look at my parts coupe which
is kinda torn apart aroudn there.  You have the same setup, you'll see
what you're up against.
