Huw:

The conventional list wisdom is not to modify the suspension, as the
Granada is prone to a handling fault which we refer to as a "spider
bite".  Something about the differential.  However, our UK listers seem
not to have such a problem, so maybe they can help you out here.

As to the oil issue, most Fords seem to be happy with any oil as long as
you add a couple of quarts with each tank... more when the car ages...
like 25k miles or so.
