Try a bicycle.  Around here, they put little Xs on the sensors
where they are supposed to be most likely for a bicycle to trip the
lights.  Sometimes they even work.  Fortunately, in most of WA state,
bicycles can use the sidewalks and crosswalks, so there is usually
a way around a red light - use the pedestrian buttons.  There is
even a special bicycle button near work.  I'm convinced it isn't
connected to anything.

Anyway, I also suggest you all check your local laws as to what the
signals really mean.  It was enlightening reading the WA laws.
