The Allen screws in the bottom of the armrest deep inside the narrow
wells.
Do not remove them, just loosen. These clips have a wedging action. Pull
the armrest off the inner panel, perpendicular to the panel.
As you have correctly observed the window switch has nothing to do with
it.
Don't forget the tiny nasty screw behind the plastic cover under the
lock release handle. And two screws on the sides up top the door inner
panel.
