1999 AUDI MT. WASHINGTON HILLCLIMB TO BE BROADCAST WORLDWIDE ON SPEEDVISION
NETWORK AUGUST 28TH AND AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 5TH

Pinkham Notch, NH - Officials at the Mt. Washington Auto Road located on Rt.
16 in Pinkham Notch recently announced that the 1999 Audi Mt. Washington
Hillclimb, held June 25th-27th, 1999, will be televised on two separate
occassions on the very popular SPEEDVISION NETWORK. The first of two
telecasts will take place on Saturday evening, August 28th at 9:30pm while the
second broadcast will take place on Sunday evening, September 5th at 8:30pm.

Replica Productions of Cambridge, MA has produced the exciting half-hour
television show which will feature in-car cameras, helicopter aerial shots and
breathtaking footage from above tree-line along the challenging 7.4 mile
course.

According to Auto Road officials, you'll even be able to "ride along with the
legendary Jerry Driscoll from East Randolph, VT as he sets a new speed record
on the mountain where he reached 113 miles per hour just below tree-line!"

Driscoll is the only driver in history to ever exceed 100 miles per hour on
the Mt. Washington Auto Road, breaking the 100 mph barrier the first time in
1995 by going 103 mph, breaking it again in 1997 on his 55th birthday by
posting a speed through the radar trap of 110 mph and then setting the new
speed record of 113 mph at this years hillclimb!

Claiming his fourth overall victory in eight years at the nation's oldest
motorsports event, was North American Rally Champion Frank Sprongl. Driving a
425 horsepower Audi Quattro S-2, Sprongl set a course record of 6 minutes,
41.99 seconds in 1998, but fell short of that amazing Record this year posting
a time of 6 minutes, 43.10 seconds for the 7.4 mile course to the top of the
Northeast's tallest peak.

This years Sports Car Club of America sanctioned hillclimb attracted the
largest field of competitors ever, with racers coming from all over the United
States as well as Canada, England and Australia.

Next year's Audi Mt. Washington Hillclimb is scheduled for June 23-25, 2000 at
the Mt. Washington Auto Road. For more information regarding the Audi
Mt.Washington Hillclimb or the world-wide broadcast on SPEEDVISION, please
