I recently read about the new Alfa sedan (forgot the model number, since
we'll never see one in the US) with the "auto" manual transmission--a true
manual transmission with a computer-controlled clutch and up/down buttons
on the wheel. Similar to the Ferrari system, but on a normal car. The car
does have a electronic throttle and thus can blip the throttle for
downshifts and such. Pretty cool.
