RE: Name that I-5 noise!



That noise is the water pump.  When I had my timing belt and water pump
replaced to, i began to get that kind of noise coming off and on.  I asked
the mechanic and he said it was normal for the newer water pups to do it.  I
don't know why it does it but, this is what he told me.  I just took his
word for it, hasn't seemed to cause any other problem.  With my car, if you
give it a little gas, the noise goes away.  Does it still exist under normal
driving conditions?
