Windshield and VIRUS

First the Virus, it came through to me attached to my digest list.

Now to the windshield. I missed whether this was a 4-k or 5-k. On my
former CGT, a log fell thru the windshield. I got one out of a 4K in about
15 mins. Just pushed out on the windshield a litttle, and pried out edge
with screwdriver (Without messing up seal). Sadly though a 4k windshield
will not fit a CGT. So I returned the windshield to where I got it from
($25, can't beat the price with a stick) I shopped around and got prices
from $275 to $800. Be sure to mention it is out-of-pocket and not an
insurance job (and we wonder why insurance is so expensive) Went with the
$275, install wasn't perfect, they used the old seal, and it was not
smoothed down correctly, but it didn't leak. I think the mechanically
inclined owner could replace the windshield in a 4K or CGT. If the window
is held in by a rubber seal (like back windows in most cars) just get one
person to press against the outside (evenly) while the person inside uses a
rope wrapped around the inside lip of the seal to pull the edge of the seal
to the inside of the car. Go slow around the corners. Works like a charm
every time.

BTW there is a 4k windshield in the yard up the street from me. Eastern
North Carolina.
