ChipTuning Results
Well - the day have come I have waited so long for.
A test of my Intended Acceleration Chips.

is under construction, so those who want to see the boost,
torque and Hp curves from the original chips and IA' can
ask me for a direct mail as they are scanned or even a fax copy.
The engine is the 2.3 200TQ 20V Avant rated @217 Hp at USA
but I have a test from 10. March showing 226.1 Hp@6250 RPM
An that is what I compare with.
Results are max tourque 372.8 Nm@4403 RPM
and 260.7 Hk@5.500RPM
At 5.500 the knock sensors took control and retarded the
timing so Hp fall to 245 Hp from 5.500 - 6.500.
If the curve was continued, the claimed 277 Hp had been reached.
at 6.000 RPM
The results in the driving RPM's are more impressive
First I read from the boost curve, that my old wastegate and hoses are just
OK and
fine going to 2.3 Bar @ 3.000 RPM and smootin down to 1.95 Bar @7000
where the orinilaj gave 1.85@2.600 and 1.4@7.000.
The boost is mesured using a split connection at the fuel reference
pressure valve and RPM's just at the wheels 4. gear..
2.000 - 2.500 same Hp
3.000 RPM + 10 = 145 Hp
3.500 + 30 = 180
4.000 + 45 = 210
4.500 + 60 = 240
5.000 + 50 = 250
5.500 + 45 = 260
6.000 + 20 = 245
7.000 + 20 = 235
The max at 260.7Hp@5437 RPM is broken due
to knocksensors retarding the timing.
I run 98 oktan
If it have not been so warm, or the intercooler better, or an
102 oktan (not to buy at gas stations) the curve would have gone to 280 HP
Shure I will remove bugs from my grill
I have used my new G-Tech. My 1/4 mile is 14.48@99.7Mph
The clutch are beginning to get the weak point at such acc. test.
Now I can calculate backwards and find the weight of the car.
Just trying until G-Tech say 260.7 Hp -)
Problem is to find an emty, plane road with no slope and NO police.
We loose our licens 85 Mph at ordinary roads and 116 Mph at highways.
My conclusion is, that the IA chip's are the money worth.
No loose of drive ability at low speeds and an impressive acceleration
and feeling of a very quick car due to +40 - +60 Hp in the middle
area. And fuel economy is even slightly better than before due to use of
98 instead of 95; but 98 is more expensive (we pay 4$ / Gallon)
Conclusion 2:
Test your car before you begin to
a) It is OK
b) Be able to messure the results after
Some may remember, I had to re-send Wetterauer chips (and have got my
refund)
because they didn't have a set for exactly this model. They would not
believe, that the boost sensor had to be exchanged!
