I recently raced a CGT  (5 cyl, 2wd) that had 215/60R\14's and my 4000CS on 
stock alloys and 185/60R14's (4 cyl, 2wd) dusted him (actually just managed 
to stay a couple of car lengths in front), so I would say going to tires 
with a larger rolling radius would be extremely detrimental to performance. 
 Having owned a CGT, I can say he should have beat me easily.
