Big tahrs 'n wheels

A few weeks ago, I was driving back from somewhere in my 86 5Ks (end of
Audi content), and I watched a very jacked-up blue Ford 4-wd pickup truck
run a stop sign. He realized the error of his ways, slammed on the brakes,
and yanked the wheel to the right.
The ensuing antics resembled a giant spastic beach ball made of (blue)
jello. The truck swapped ends, bounced up and down, and leaned so far over
that I was convinced it was going to wind up sliding down the road on its
side. Somehow, it righted itself, and came to a lurching, smoking,
mud-spattered stop on someone's newly rutted front lawn. Facing the way it
came from.
I was far enough away from this so that it was funny, not scary. It looked
like a cartoon animation of an accident.
Moral: give these things a WIDE berth - they don't stop, go, or go around
corners worth a damn.
