CV shaft, 1988 Q90

Hi, everyone...

Boy, it's been a while since I've posted; not quite sure I remember how!

Anyway, it appeares I'm going to have to replace the left front CV shaft on
my Q90.  (According to the previous owner, the right side has already been
done.)  Lacking a Bentley, I must turn to the list for assistance.

Anything in particular I should know?  Do I need a special tool, a la VW?
Is there a great amount of difference between the Audi part and the one I
can get for $88 US from NAPA?
