Re: 85 UrQ!! engine schmengine
First off, does an '85 UrQ have a WX or an MC, if it has a WX, then put in an
MC, if it has an MC, go get another MC, they aren't hard to find OR
expensive. If you need to do an engine swap, ask those who did it (you
have) and listen carefully (not selectively) Bobs LT1Q is delivers nearly
spiritual amounts of torque (screaming all four tires away from the starting
line last weekend) I was in it and lived to tell ( Bob, you know what I am
talking about :o} ) But, is an '85 UrQ a candidate for such a swap? You
really need to soul-search that question, and you should come up with not
only a no, but a HELL NO. You want to start hacking and welding, go get a
rat b*stard '83UrQ, there are plenty of them out there (want mine? )
ON ANOTHER NOTE:
Quit j*rkin us all off and put a wonderful lightweight all-aluminum 2.5 (or
3.0) L 944turbo motor in it.
300+hp in the blink of an eye
bolts to 016 tranny
far less weight than either of the aforementioned powerplants
those in-the-know can find 'em for $2000 range
AND (drum roll please)
there is really no cross breeding (well maybe) but no different than putting
a small block chev into your firebird..
WHEW, goes to show that the list will never change....
I can read about four days worth of ramblings and then sorry guys, I gotta
call BS.
