This post showed up on a BMW list recently


Has anyone ever had cross drilled rotors hum or howl on their car driving
down the road?  A shop called today with a customers Audi S6 with Porsche
rotors making a lot of noise merely driving down the road (ie, not under
braking).  I suspect the air flow through the rotors is reacting with the
customers particular 5 spoke wheels and creating some noisy oscillations.
Similar to the droaning noise over some open sunroofs.  Anyone ever
experience this or have any other thoughts?  SD
