Some time ago now, Mr. E. Fletcher published the results of his
type 44 suspension analysis which showed lowering the front adversely
effects front roll center stability. In other words, as the front is
lowered, the tendency of the roll center to shift laterally with
roll input increases. This would naturally unsettle the car during
cornering. Your experience seems to confirm his findings.
