RE: Cleaning vinyl...

i used to have a porsche 914 - the seats were a woven vinyl pattern.
talk about a pain in the ass to clean. i do, however, have a system. i
would start out by mixing a little bit of laundry detergent (avoid the
bleached up stuff that is so ubiquitous now-a-days) in with some warm
water. i used about a teaspoon to every quart. after the detergent is
very well mixed in, dip a toothbrush in and start scrubbing your vinyl.
i found that laundry dertergent worked much better than any other
household soap - perhaps because it was designed for ground in dirt.

part 2 of this system is pretty key in my opinion. i have one of those
dustbuster wet/dry vacuums, so i took one of those bendable straws and
duct taped a little mounting system to mate it to my dustbuster. i would
follow the toothbrush, sucking up all of the loosened debris and dirty
water. i know that it sounds a little involved, but this system is the
only thing that worked on my seats.

good luck
