According to the machinist who's doing the work on my heads, you can peen 
over the edges of the crack and ignore it ... I'm still sort of uncomfortable 
with this but he said it happens all the time to Audi and Dodge heads and 
this is what he always does to fix it.  He claims he's never had one fail 
yet...

It depends ... have your machine shop check clearances and make the call.
