4000 Quattro Problems...
While on my way up to Huw's yesterday, I was puttering along on the upper
part of 93N going through New Hampshire when I hit a rather large lump in
the road. I was doing about 70 and as soon as I came down, I noticed a
slight drop in power....I looked down, and the car had shut off!
I didn't notice if the wheel locked, but I was in a rush to get the key
turned so I didn't smack into the wall....I hit a curb and skidded out, and
hurt the hell out of my back. So, I just got out of the hospital with some
strained pieces and now I'm wondering...What the hell happened?
I would assume, looking at it from a standpoint of someone who is not that
mechanical, that with a lowered, stiffened car, the shock of the bump was
so great that some connection somewhere momentarily lost it's connection
with whatever was keeping the car vrooming along.
Any ideas?
