I'm not sure if it would be the same, but I have several n/a 5000's. In
these cars, all you need to do is remove a tiny screw at the top of the
triangular piece(the screw in the skinny part near the window). Then, if
you've never had the mirror off before, you need to pull with gentle, steady
pressure from the rear of the triangle. It's made to come off from back to
front, so don't try to pull it from different sides. Once that's off, it's
a snap. Three visible bolts and it's loose. There's more of that gooey
adhesive holding it on from the outside, but it's not a problem.
