4KSQ Electrical Gremlins

Man I hate electrical problems.  Spent about 4 hours tonight trying to 
trouble shoot why the back up lights on the "new" 1984 don't come on (don't
really care about them, but just tinted the windows and now really need the
assistance via light) .  Both switches (why two) work fine.  Actually I put
in a new one.  I get power at both of them  I get power at the
harness/connector under the hood but nothing to the bulbs.  I manually tried
closing the circuit by wiring them together.  Nada.  Nothing.  Wishful
thinking.  What gives?  Anyone else know where else I can look?  The fuses
of course, are fine.
