Try looking in the front pipe of the exhaust,  the sensor for this car is 
mounted almost even with the back of the tranny pointing towards the center 
of the car.

My 1990 Audi 100 (2.3 liter 5 cylinder) failed emmissions due to high
NO emmissions. CO and HC were just fine.

I am suspecting the O2 sensor as it has 147K miles and the original
sensor.

My problem is, I cannot seem to find it !!???  I've looked
everywhere... from above, below and every other angle. It should be on
the exhaust manifold,  but I don't see it.

Can anybody please shed some light on this and let me know how I can
find it and if there are tricks to replacing it.  Thanks.
