Vacuum operated central locking actuator...

Hi!

About 2 weeks ago I had to replace the passenger's door window
glass. Guy who put it in misaligned the inner frame so I spent
some 4 hours fixing it. Obviously spending 4 hours just says I
had an uphill battle and had a problem that had me taking apart
the driver's door as well. Anyway, when done I locked the door
with the keyless entry thing. Alarm arms, doors lock, then a
second later the doors unlock. Took apart the driver's door
again and watched the central locking actuator lock the door
and then it started to release slowly and eventually it triggers
the signal to open the doors.

I think it is not holding vacuum anymore. Or is there something
I can adjust to make it pull further down? I am currently
running with only 3 doors electronically connected to the
keyless entry thing, the driver's actuator is not connected, only
by vacuum line.

Where does the keyless entry control unit (if there is one on the
type-44 200 1990 model) reside? I can get electric lock
actuators from Taiwan for $2.80 for the water-resistant units
(at least that is the price I got in October '98) and will soon be
getting the pricing for control units and new window regulators for
the Audi 100 (including control units and motors). Anyone ever
changed the vacuum locking system for electrically actuated
units? How difficult?

I also need to replace the CONLOG alarm with one with more stuff
to it. I had a break in and the alarm did not go off, there's
no shock detection or ultra-sonic movement sensors on this thing.
And this is the top model for 1990 and it comes like this from
the factory! Blyegh! Anyway, want to replace this vacuum thing from
something newer that will graft easily with a new alarm. Sometimes
I've also come back to the car and found that it has miraculously
disarmed itself and unlocked.

Any help would be appreciated with info on temporarily repairing that
vacuum lock on the door. Thanks. :)
