Stange badging

I saw a what I think was a V8 yesterday in NYC, everything looked right
except it had a V8 badge on the left side of the trunk and a quattro badge
on the right side.  Is this just some badge engineering or did some later
V8s come like this.  (I was late for a movie with my girlfriend, so I didn't
have time to really go look.)  I checked Ti Kan's list of badges and it
seems that the V8 should only have the four rings.
