After looking at Huw's web I've been thinking about changing my very poor
4000 DOT lights our for 4 lamp rounds. Probabaly they will look goofy, but
at least i'll be able to see.
The best part though, is that you can get 100W 'Aircraft Landing Lights'
sealed beams that will fit in the the 4 lamp high beam positions. They are
very much a pencil beam (Flat lens), but not as clean a beam as a Hella
2000 pencil beam. Just enough spread for highway driving.
The best part: It's really stealth. Unless someone looks closely at the
bulb itself (And figures out what the flat lens means) there is no way of
knowing that the bulbs are not proper.

If you try to find the above bulbs, they are made by Wagner (And possibly
others) as part no 4537 (I think).
You can also use them as auxilary lights, if you find those black
floodlight pods that are used on tractors, and as truck backup lights.
Throw out the floodlight bulb, and put in the landing light. Not as cool
looking as Hella's maybe, but quite a bit cheaper, and smaller too.
