Plus Audi already did it.  The MB engine used in the ur-quattro 1988 and
1989 model years is identical to the MC in all respects except peripheral
things like the turbo water pump being mounted on the block instead of
in free space, etc.

So the few final finishing touches are available from Audi as MB spares.
