I had the same problem, showed up in jeans and a leather jacket, shaved head
and long red goatee.  Went to a number of dealerships and was ignored or
steered towards whatever low-end brand the dealership also sold.  Bought my
car (A4Q) from the guy who treated me like any other customer and took the
time to answer my questions.  Will buy my S4 from the same guy and have
referred a couple friends there already, one who bought an A4 yesterday.  I
prefer to deal with people who deal fairly with me.
