FS: 86 5ks

A sad day here in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I no longer have the means (my time or money for someone else's time) to
continue to maintain my 86 5ks. It needs a new home.

Blue Book for the car is $2300. I believe the car is worth $2500 (see
below). It needs an exhaust manifold gasket; the repair is estimated at
$600, by Eurotec in Ann Arbor ($70/hour labor fees). Asking: $2k obo.

I can deliver the car within reason (500 miles); maybe split the return
transportation costs?


The car:

1986 (production date 10/85)
manual transmission
176k miles
Very clean car! 
	Very few people believe me when I tell 
	them it is almost 14 years old.
One owner since new. 
	Accepted delivery, January, 1986, from Audi 
	in Albany, NY (car was purchased through a German dealer)
Garage kept until June, 1998
bluish-silver exterior
marine blue interior
power locks, power windows 
	all work, except one-touch down feature on drivers side
am/fm cassette (JVC, pull-out)
	power antenna works

The car has been maintained at:
	Mattiew (sp?) Audi, Chicago IL
	Loeber Motors, Chicago, IL
	The Auto Clinic, Mansfield, OH
	Eurotec Motors, Ann Arbor, MI

Major repairs in last 14 months:
	clutch
	front end piecesparts (tie rod ends, control arm, bushings)
	tires (Michelin MXV4) and alignment (a good one! -no monkey lads!)
	cat-back exhaust (Midas)
	front struts
	a/c compressor
	4 Floor mats (Lloyds)

Needs:
	Exhaust manifold gasket

All repair parts are OEM Audi, minus the exhaust; the oil has always been
changed at 3-5,000 miles, using Audi OEM filters; and maintenance issues 
have been addressed immediately. I am selling, because I tend to be a
perfectionist, and if I can't do it right, then it isn't worth doing. The
car, as we all know, takes a bit of TLC for a wonderful return. As a 
full-time engineering graduate student, I have neither the garage nor the
finances to continue maintaing the car as it needs to be.

A sad day in Ann Arbor.
