Re: Dash lites, 90 90Q 20v
Eric, Phil Payne, and others who offered suggestions, and all those that
stood idly by, as confused as I. The #14 fuse, mainly responsible for
the dash light circuit, as well as the glove box light, the engine
compartment light, and the license plate lights in the 90/90 20v Q, also
goes to a light switch output to the HEADLIGHT WASHER RELAY. Gray wire,
top left of the plug on the switch (terminal 58). It also goes to the
seat belt warning relay.
I live on the California Central Coast. I don't need no steenkin'
headlight washers! I may try to find a used relay in a boneyard, it's
got a 443 p.n. so it may also be used on the 5Ks, but I'm not going to
lose anymore sleep over it. Let the darkness come forth, we're ready for
it!
On a lighter note (look out Martha, that was a pun!), I found a nice
accessory outlet socket at Radio Shack that more or less fits right in
the lighter hole in the console. Seems to work a lot better than the
lighter for the telephone plug.
Radio Shack Part Number 270-1539A. Some wiring mods required, and you
lose the cute little lighted ring.
More serious is the dead L/R window motor. Gotta look into that.
Switches are fine, signal goes to motor, motor ignores instructions to
raise or lower. Are the motors available separately? anybody got a used
one that works?
Thanks for the tips, and I hope this answer will help someone someday.
