Well, yours is not a V5 but VW actually makes such an engine and
it's available on the Golf/Bora range in other countries.  It's actually
more correct to call it a VR5 because it's basically a VR6 engine
with one less cylinder.  So yes, it has two cylinders in one "bank" and
3 in the other, albeit the two banks are formed in a narrow 15 degree Vee
and topped by a single head.
