leaking rack

I have the 5kcstq up on jackstands today to try to install the new exhaust
pipe hangar off the transmission, and I notice some oil spots on the cement
"workshop pad" I installed so I could use jackstands and not worry about a
heavy rain causing them to tip as they did last spring.  I look up and see
the underside of the steering rack's accordian rubber is wet with oil.  The
pentosin reservoir is down about a 1/4 inch from when I checked the level
last a couple weeks (and several hundred miles) ago.  Upon further
inspection, I see that the accordian rubber actually is ripped on both
sides (shiny metal something like hydraulic rams is visible within).  I
have a 1000 mile roundtrip to Illinois planned for Tuesday and Wednesday.
Will the rack "blow" or can I go that far before I replace it?
