Re: leaking rack
> Can a rack be bad without leaking juice?
The PO must have replaced my rack at some time because it has a ZF rebuild
tag on it. My hydraulic system does not leak at all but as I drive down the
road at about 55-60 the steering wheel has some flutter or shimmy and I have
never been that happy with the way the car handles.
I have replaced all the wheel bearings and suspension bushings, front and
rear. I have tried to adjust the rack (pre load?) Balanced and switched the
tires around. Aligned after eack operation. Just got a new right tie rod
although the thing does not seem loose the left side was replaced last year.
Upper strut mounts newer shocks.
Hell!, I guess I'll just go ahead and replace it.
