Top nut (That is in the middle of the metal 'cup', under the hood) holds
the cup on. There is some other 'hidden' thing you have to undo, once the
strut is out, and the spring is compressed (Same front &
 back)

Not quite. There is some sort of 'other nut' or threaded ring that holds
the spring tension.

Undo the big nut. And if you use an air gun, or electric impact wrench, you
dont have to worry about using an allen key in the hex in the middle of the
strut nut. Otherwise, it's loads of fun...

I just had all of mine out to do the wheel bearings...
