steering lock..

Hi Audigroup,

On a local scrapyard/breakers yard I am able to buy a specimen of my beloved
type of Audi (typ 43): an Audi 200 (the USA-model 5000).
The car must have been built between 1980 and 1982, and it is available for a
small amount of money...
There are no documents/licence plates on the car available, but I could clear if
the car is able to a re-entrance to a 'working life' with the authorities over here..
So, that's not my question..

Another problem is: there are no keys available (I was said the car is NOT
stolen, but was bought by the yard-owner from a german breaker).

So: my question is: how can I solve the steering-lock problem??
I assume a new lock can be built in the housing, but how do I get the old part
out??
German and English (Hayes) manuals doesn't mention the procedure (I do
understand why :-) ), so I would be very grateful if any of you technicians was
able to give me some advise..
As I may be 'sensitive information' you can mail me direct to robwill2@wxs.nl

Maybe (I hope so) any of you can offer me some help on this topic!

Thanks a lot,
Robert Willemsen
