Iain,
I use 15w50 Mobil 1 in my both TQ. I recall Phil mentioning that this
particular weight (viscosity rather) was not available in the UK.

It is about right.
My long gone '85 5000s, no T, no Q, manual, 2.3L KZ once did the
incredible 35-37 mpg at the steady 85mph from Philly to Chicago (800
miles, door to door, measured). I almost made it on one tankful. Ran out
of gasoline in Gary, IN.
My recently gone '89 200TQ, manual, 2.2L MC-1, would do 18mpg highway on
the old sensor. Jumped to 24mpg as soon as I replaced it. The swing
frequency of the 30 LEDs of my Lambda gauge had increased two times (to
about 1Hz) at the same time.
