How much $ has this list saved me?

Well, new clutch in my 86 4KCSQ. 122K miles. Oh what a feeling! (is that
comment out of line here?)
Well I only have this car since March, so it is like a car I have never
driven before. Clutch engages near the _floor_. Really feels great & the
clunk upon downshift and acceleration after coasting is GONE :-). Think it
was the center drive shaft bearing which leads me to the subject issue.

Bought the clutch, pressure plate, throughout bearing, pilot bearing and
guide sleeve from The Parts Connection, at Scott Hare's suggestion, for
$140. at the Qlist discount and that included rush shipping. Not too shabby
considering the best price I had gotten for the kit _without_ the pilot
bearing and guide sleeve was $200 without shipping costs factored in.

Regarding my center drive shaft bearing - Audi says replace the entire
shaft - part cost is I believe over $1,000. Blau has a replacement bearing
for about $120. Quite a deal when considering the $1,000. shaft cost, eh.
Well, Doyt forwarded me a past post which details BMW part# 26121209532
used on a 90. My mechanic ordered this from his distributor for $35. THANKS
DOYT.

So how much has this list just saved me? Well worth the voluntary
contribution to support the list I sent to Dan? You're darned tootin!

Thanks to all
Jeff
