Actually it's the other way around....the Audi parts failed first then the 
upgrades came to make the 1.8t more reliable....I have installed a K04 turbo 
and a Garrett chip among other mod's and have gotten a large increase in hp 
and a reliable motor...my average hiway fuel economy remains 27-28 mpg and 
22-23 around town stop-n-go.
