Guess I should have spent more time at the Audi tents in the paddock, the only famous people
I met were other q-listers. Which was still quite a treat. WHile I didn't get to meet Heywood,
Unser, Leno and the others, I did watch them driving on the track. Or in the case of Stirling
Moss, sitting next to the track, after he tangled his Aston Martin with a Ferrari that spun in
front of him on turn 2. Ouch! I don't think I would have been so calm after mangling such
a beautiful machine.
Unfortunately, the picture I took of the V16 Silver Arrow side-by-side on the track with the R8
came out a bit blurry. But there are many others that came out great, for instance, a shot of
the V16 leading the IMSA, Trans Am, and Pikes Peak quattros through the Andretti hairpin. I'll
get them onto a website this week. I expect there will be a run on hard drives, as everyone
starts uploading and downloading all the jpeg memories.
I even got to park my coupe quattro (license plate QQATTRO) next to Rui Brasils S2 (license
plate QUATRRO). I was like a kid at Disneyland all weekend.
