odometer

I have an 86 4000SQ, and I recently replaced a flash bulb that went
out.  This is located behind the tachometer, and was a pain in the butt
to get at.  Anyway a few weeks after that, my odometer quit working. 
However, my speedometer and tachometer still work fine.  I'm afraid to
take the dash apart again, in case I break the speedometer cabling. 
Any suggestions?
