Mine was taken out last Wednesday.  I feel your pain.  Quite literally, I 
have many of the same complaints.  Just got the $3000 check from the other 
guys insurance, and that was just for my 86 4kq, with paint in horrible 
condition with 178k miles.

I find it quite curious that in many instances the driving violation 
charges are dropped in an accident.  Here in North Carolina, they issue you 
a ticket, but the charges are dropped if you present a letter from your 
insurance saying they will cover all expenses. In larger cities they don't 
even bother with the tiket unless their is personal injury.   So if you are 
safely exceeding the speed limit, you are a menace to society and the book 
should be thrown at you, and you are frequently at the receiving end of a 
lecture from the officer or judge, but if your driving is so poor you 
actually collide with another vehicle, they let you off the hook?
