Light Brake Pedal Feel?

    Yesterday as I pulled into the driveway I noticed the brake pedal feel
was lighter than usual and that the travel required to get the car down to a
full stop was further than usual.  Started the 80 up this morning and the
pedal felt light again.  I revved the engine a it and checked the pedal,
same feeling.  I went for a drive and about a mile down the road the pedal
feel became harder.  By the time I got back to the house, 3 mile drive, the
pedal feel was normal.  If pedal feel is light and I revv the engine it
becomes harder since there is more vacuum.  I pumped the pedal with the
engine on, pedal does not change at all.  With the engine off 5-8 pedals and
the pedal is stiff as a board.  My system does not use a "bomb" so I think
that test does not apply to my car.
    I checked the vacuum line to the booster and it is intact.  Fluid level
is perfect, new fluid 3 months ago, Pentosin DOT4.  Whats up?
