That's true, but the cop's radar gun can't go through the
hill either! So, you weren't shot until you were in his
line of sight. Possibly not enough time to react to your
detector signal (effectiveness of a detector requires driver
to slow down), but the jammer should still have worked,
since it's effectiveness only relies on receiving and
retransmitting a signal.
Methinks you'd be hard pressed to ever get any money back
from Rocky Mtn Radar--probably lots of fine print in there.
I'll save my cash for the V1, and continue to use CB (by far
the most effective anti-smokey device).
