RE:erratic idle

I've had a few VW's where having the A/C or defrost on (air compressor
functions) would make the idle jump right up to around 2,000. Didn't bother
me much, since it stopped when I turned either off. Something kicks a little
extra fuel to the engine when the compressor's running, and if those sensors
there aren't reading the situation right this could affect your idle as
well.
