Your 4KQ has a medium compression engine and does not have knock sensors,
so you do not lose performance by using 87 octane gas.  However, premium
gas typically also contain certain fuel additives that may be beneficial
in keeping injectors clean and prevent carbon buildup on valves.
For example, Chevron's Techron.
