no one ever notices my Dr Who references so I don't throw them in much. 
heck, the Doctor was the main inspiration for my wrenching style (just
fumble around with wires everywhere until my beautiful assisant (humph!
associate!) points out what would actually make it work, or until it
starts working on its own)
