For minor mis-matches in tire diameter, you won't damage the center diff -- 
once it's locked, it's as if it isn't there -- but you might increase wear on 
the driveshaft center bearing, the front or rear diff (depending upon which 
wheel is involved) and the CV joints/axle shafts to the affected wheel.  The 
degree to which it increases wear depends upon how large a difference in 
diameter exists ... as I recall, though, anything less than 2% should be fine 
under most circumstances.
