javelina...nac
jeffs story reminded me of another. long ago on the return leg of a trip to
the gaspe peninsula i encountered low fog just outside quebec city. it was
dusk too which made it worse. traffic, though light was still moving well on
the straight multi lane highway. suddenly my car, (jag xk150s) lurched
upwards and flew....(large moment of holding breath) then crashed to the
ground, like steve mcqueen in bullitt. while still amazed and in wonderment
at what could have gone wrong i pulled off the road and we walked back to
where we thought that we had our lift-off. what a surprise we had. a pig
transporter had overturned further ahead and one pig had run back along the
highway and had somehow died there . i guess when we hit it ,it rolled under
the jag and we took to the air. even lying on its side it was about 2 feet
high. the jag suffered no damage except for the stains on its red leather
seats :>o. while we were still walking around the police arrived and took
control. scary part was that afterwards you think gee, what if it weren't a
pig....it could have been a human being!
